ANNAPOLIS, MD — Governor Moore released the following statement regarding the retirement of Linda Lamone:

“After more than 25 years of exceptional leadership and public service, Elections Administrator Linda Lamone retires today. She is one of our most dedicated public officials and no stranger to making history. Linda is the longest-serving elections administrator in Maryland and the second-longest-serving chief elections official in the nation. Her extensive work laid the foundation for our current election system, digitizing campaign finance reports and revamping the state election code, all to ensure continued free and fair elections in our state.

On behalf of the state of Maryland, I want to express our gratitude for Linda’s work to shape and improve the way we elect our leaders. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors. Maryland will continue to benefit from her service in the years to come.”
