WASHINGTON, DC — Today, following the second trilateral meeting between Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, and Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, the leaders released the following joint statement:
“Together, we lead one of the most unique regions in the country. The decisions made by any one of our jurisdictions have meaningful impacts on the residents and businesses in all of our jurisdictions. This is true on issues from public safety to public health, and of course, on our economies. While we each have our own strengths and challenges, many of our residents are looking to each of us for solutions to shared concerns, namely rising costs on everything from housing to utilities. Today, we discussed affordability issues, the progress we’re making in getting displaced federal workers connected to new opportunities, and the importance of unified advocacy to secure the federal investments essential to meeting the region’s infrastructure needs.
“We are grateful to the Greater Washington Partnership for convening us and for providing a valuable forum to strengthen our regional collaboration.”
