Governor Moore’s Statement Regarding Tentative Three-Year Labor Agreements Reached Between the State of Maryland and Maryland’s Four Major Civilian Employee Labor Unions

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Wes Moore today released the following statement regarding the tentative three-year labor agreements reached between the State of Maryland and Maryland’s four major civilian employee labor unions:

“I’m pleased to announce that the State of Maryland has reached tentative three-year labor agreements in partnership with Maryland’s four major civilian employee labor unions. Rebuilding state government and supporting our state employees is a top priority for the Moore-Miller Administration, and while the final contracts must be ratified by a full member vote by all four unions, these preliminary agreements are another critical step forward in that work.
I would like to thank the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Maryland Professional Employees Council (MPEC), American Federation of Teachers - Maryland (AFT), American Federation of Teachers and Maryland School for the Deaf for their partnership in negotiation as we reached these agreements before the December 31st deadline – and thank them for everything they do to uplift State of Maryland employees. I would also like to thank the numerous State employees who worked diligently to move these negotiations forward.”
