News Article |
Updated:

Application Deadline: July 10, 2026
Project Period: August 2026 – July 2027

Total Grant Amount: $650,000

The Maryland Governor's Office of Immigration Affairs (OIA) is pleased to announce the Notice of Funding Opportunity for Rural Access to Immigration Legal Services (RAILS) – a new grant opportunity designed to expand access to immigration legal services for underserved immigrant communities across Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Maryland is investing a total of $650,000 to strengthen immigration legal service infrastructure, increase access to legal screenings and consultations, support regional immigration legal clinics, and build stronger partnerships between community organizations and legal representation through one or more grants.

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, legal service providers, community-based organizations, and community-based organizations working with immigrant populations (if there is a partnership for legal representation), and other partnerships or coalitions that include both legal services providers and other entities.

We encourage eligible organizations to apply, and together, we will strengthen access to trusted immigration legal services, support vulnerable populations, and build a more equitable future for immigrant communities across Maryland's Eastern Shore.
