If something is missing, broken, or hard to find, please let us know.
In this episode of Faith Spotlight, Dr. Lora Hargrove, Director of Interfaith Outreach at the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives (GOCI), visits First Fruits Farm, a faith-based nonprofit that exemplifies compassion, service, and community impact.
Located in northern Baltimore County, First Fruits Farm transforms farmland into hope by growing and distributing millions of pounds of fresh produce to individuals and families facing food insecurity across Maryland and the region.
During her visit, Dr. Hargrove speaks with Rick Bernstein, the farm’s founder, along with the executive team and volunteers, to learn more about the organization’s mission, the role faith plays in their work, and how the farm has evolved from its humble beginnings into a vital force for good.
What began as a small act of service has grown into a thriving operation fueled by thousands of volunteers each year. Through partnerships with local food banks, churches, schools, and nonprofits, First Fruits Farm provides healthy, nutritious food to those in need—at no cost.
This Faith Spotlight highlights how faith and agriculture come together to nourish both body and spirit.
