Lieutenant Governor Miller announces Work Zone Safety Work Group

Lieutenant Governor Miller serves as chair of the Governor’s Work Zone Safety Work Group.

Announced in April of 2023, the group includes individuals with expertise in the transportation sector including law enforcement officers, labor leaders, traffic engineers, highway safety experts, and workers with direct experience in work zones. The group will meet regularly and identify actions to improve work zone safety for roadway workers, law enforcement, and motorists. Group members were tasked with developing a set of recommendations by the end of 2023 that outlines specific actions to keep roadway workers safe and decrease the number of crashes that occur in construction work sites on Maryland highways.
