New Approach Will Better Serve Transportation Users, Prioritize Equity, and Spur Economic Growth

ANNAPOLIS, MD –Following the announcement yesterday that the Moore-Miller Administration will pursue a new path forward in addressing mobility and access challenges along the American Legion Bridge, I-495, and I-270, Lieutenant Governor Miller released the following statement:

“Transportation access is not one-size-fits-all — it must meet the needs of all users,” said Lt. Gov. Miller. “The Moore-Miller Administration’s vision to addressing the congestion challenges along the American Legion Bridge and I-495 and I-270 corridors will do exactly that, by tackling this through the lens of equity, environmental impacts, engagement from the community and driving economic growth. By incorporating transit and ride sharing options, while leveraging billions of dollars in federal grants, this approach makes Maryland both economically competitive and equitable as we address congestion and safety for Marylanders.”
