Lt. Governor Boyd K. Rutherford Canoes and Kayaks for #LGStateParkBucketList

Tuckahoe, Pocomoke River State Parks Feature Water Activities and Much More

ANNAPOLIS, MD—LtGovernor Boyd KRutherford today visited Pocomoke River State Park in Snow Hill for a guided kayak tour along the Corker’s Creek trail as part of his #LGStateParkBucketList initiative. Located within the Pocomoke State Forest in Worcester County, the state park offers visitors the perfect setting for camping, hiking, canoeing and kayaking, fishing, and more. The lieutenant governor also visited Tuckahoe State Park, located in Queen Anne in Caroline County, on Sunday for a canoe tour on Tuckahoe Creek.

“Pocomoke River and Tuckahoe State Parks are both great destinations for seasoned or amateur outdoor enthusiasts,” said LtGovernor Rutherford. “From the many activities and amenities to the abundance of natural beauty and wildlife, there is something for visitors of all ages to see and enjoy.”

Other amenities and activities at Pocomoke River State Park include picnic pavilions, a swimming pool, a nature center, and hunting. Boat launches are available at both Shad Landing on the south side of the Pocomoke River off Route 113, and Milburn Landing on the north side of the river on Route 364.

Tuckahoe State Park offers day camps, canoe trips, challenge course programs and Scales & Tales presentations and features picnic areas, a visitors center, playgrounds, campground facilities and hunting areas. Memorial Day through Labor Day, park staff offer a variety of free family activities.
