Financial Institutions Portal
*Maryland law, Md. Code Ann., Fin. Inst. §§ 5-707(c) and 6-711 requires that Maryland state-chartered banks and credit unions notify the Governor’s Office within 24 hours of closing. Completing the online document on this webpage satisfies this requirement. The requirement to notify the Governor’s Office only applies if you close your entire institution. If you have one or more branches still operating, you only need to notify the Office of the Commissioner of Financial Regulation (“OCFR”). For more information please visit the OCFR’s web page and review the Emergency Preparedness Guide for Maryland State-Chartered Banks, Credit Unions, and Trust Companies at the following link: http://labor.maryland.gov/finance/banks/.
