PHOTO RELEASE: Governor Hogan Highlights State Workforce Development and Infrastructure Investments, Honors Healthcare Heroes in Salisbury

ANNAPOLIS, MD—On the second day of his six-day Eastern Shore Tour, Governor Larry Hogan made several stops in Salisbury to highlight state investments in local workforce development initiatives and infrastructure upgrades, and to honor local healthcare workers.

Arcon Training Center. After participating in the official dedication ceremony for the newly completed Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory earlier today, Governor Hogan toured the Arcon Training Center, which offers welding and metal fabrication training. The facility began operating in 2015 through funding from the Maryland Energy Administration’s Maryland Offshore Wind Workforce Training grant program, and continues to be funded through a Maryland Department of Labor’s EARN grant.

Honoring Healthcare Heroes. The governor stopped by TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital to thank and present a citation to local healthcare workers for their dedicated efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Water Infrastructure Upgrades at Salisbury Regional Airport. Governor Hogan also visited Salisbury Regional Airport, which received more than $3.5 million from the state for critical water infrastructure upgrades. The funding helped expand water supply in order to improve capabilities throughout the airport.
