PHOTO RELEASE: Governor Hogan Visits Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department
ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today visited the Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department, which covers the Great Falls region of Potomac, parts of Bethesda, and the Capital Beltway, and services three different Washington, D.C. area hospitals.
Following a tour of the fire station, the governor presented a citation to Chief Corinne Piccardi, the first female volunteer fire chief in Montgomery County. Chief Piccardi has been a volunteer member of the Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years and has served as the active fire chief since December 2016.
Governor Hogan also rode in the department’s new state-of-the-art fire engine, which was purchased in 2020 using both Maryland 508 funding and community funds. The department also received an additional $9,000 through the RELIEF Act of 2021.
The Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department is staffed on nights and weekends by a combination of volunteers and paid Montgomery County fire and rescue professionals.
