Nation’s Governors Convene in Washington, DC to Discuss Infrastructure, Meet with Federal Administration Officials
ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan, Chairman of the National Governors Association (NGA), is leading the organization’s annual Winter Meeting in Washington, DC. This four-day summit provides a platform for the nation’s governors from both parties to discuss the most pressing issues facing their states and strengthen their relationships with domestic and international partners.
Over the course of the long weekend, Governor Hogan is highlighting his year-long national initiative, “Infrastructure: Foundation for Success.” This is the sixth summit in which Governor Hogan has brought together leaders from government, business, non-profits, and academia to share best practices and develop innovative solutions to America’s infrastructure crisis.
Governor Hogan delivered opening remarks at the meeting’s first plenary session, highlighting his national infrastructure initiative, before leading a panel on the issue.
“In states all across the country, governors are working together in a bipartisan way, showing real leadership, making progress, and finding solutions to the serious problems facing us,” said Governor Hogan. “Our nation’s governors, on both sides of the aisle, are finding new ways to innovate, to reform, and to drive the debate. My goal with our infrastructure initiative is to harness that strength and come up with all the best ideas and solutions in order to tackle an issue that is so fundamental to our economy, to our environment, and to our way of life.” Watch the governor’s speech here.
