ANNAPOLIS, MD — Today, the Office of the Lieutenant Governor welcomes Brandon Stoneburg as its new Director of Communications.
In his new role, Stoneburg will oversee communication strategy and media relations for Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller, and joins fellow Baltimore native - Geri Royale Byrd, who
was recently appointed Chief of Staff, as the office’s new senior staff.
Stoneburg comes to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor after most recently serving as director of communications for Baltimore City Council President Nick Mosby. He previously served as communications director for the Maryland Democratic Party and as chief of staff in the Maryland House of Delegates for Del. Anne Healey (D-Prince George’s County). He began his career as a sports reporter in Pennsylvania after graduating from Temple University with a degree in Journalism. He went on to work with Major League Baseball’s Advanced Media Department in New York City before returning to Maryland and transitioning into public service, and holds a Master’s Degree in Government from Johns Hopkins University.
Byrd and Stoneburg bring a wealth of experience in state and local public service and will advance and amplify the lieutenant governor’s portfolio.
