Governor Larry Hogan Announces Judicial Appointments

Fills Vacancies on the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today announced the appointments of Peter K. Killough and Judy Lynn Woodall to the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County. The governor made the appointments after reviewing applicants to and nominees from the judicial nominating commission.

“After a careful and thorough vetting process, I am confident that Peter Killough and Judy Woodall are the most qualified individuals for these positions,” said Governor Hogan. “They have each shown a dedication and commitment to the practice of law, and I trust that they will honorably serve the citizens of Prince George’s County.”

Peter K. Killough is currently an assistant attorney general for Maryland. In December of 2016, he was appointed director of the Maryland Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, which investigates and criminally prosecutes cases of Medicaid fraud, as well as matters involving allegations of abuse and neglect of vulnerable adults in certain facilities. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Killough served as principal counsel for the People’s Insurance Counsel Division, and worked as the equal employment opportunity officer for the Office of the Attorney General. He also worked in private practice, before starting his work in the Office of the Attorney General in 2009. Mr. Killough holds his B.A. from New York University and earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia.

Judy Lynn Woodall has served as a domestic relations magistrate for the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County since 2002, where she handles divorce, custody and child support cases. Magistrate Woodall also serves as an adjunct professor at Howard University School of Law, where she currently teaches a family law practice course. Prior to her service as a domestic relations magistrate, she was an assistant state’s attorney for Prince George’s County, serving as the chief of the narcotics division. Magistrate Woodall holds her B.A. from Fordham University and earned her J.D. from the Howard University School of Law.
