Governor Larry Hogan Announces Judicial Appointment
Fills Vacancy on the Circuit Court for Washington County
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today announced the appointment of Delegate Brett Wilson to the Circuit Court for Washington County. The governor made the appointment after reviewing applicants to and nominees from the judicial nominating commission.
“After a careful and thorough vetting process, I am confident that Delegate Brett Wilson is the most qualified individual for this position,” said Governor Hogan. “Delegate Wilson has served the people of Washington County with distinction throughout his years in public service, and I offer him my sincere congratulations and wish him well in this new position.”
Brett R. Wilson is currently an assistant state’s attorney in Washington County. He has also been a member of the House of Delegates since January 14, 2015. Prior to his work as an assistant state’s attorney for Washington County, Delegate Wilson worked in private practice, and worked as an assistant public defender for Washington County. He also served as a law clerk Judge Cypert O. Whitfill in the Harford County Circuit Court and as a law clerk to Judge William W. Wenner of the Court of Special Appeals. Delegate Wilson received his B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park and received his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
