Governor Larry Hogan Meets with Ambassador Liora Herzl During Israeli Trade Mission

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today met with Israeli Ambassador Liora Herzl, Deputy Director General for North America for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the first day of a weeklong economic development trade mission to Israel.

“I would like to extend my warmest thanks to Ambassador Herzl for meeting with me this evening and for her support for the relationship between our state and the State of Israel,” said Governor Hogan. “I look forward to working together to identify opportunities for Maryland and Israel to work in partnership.”

During their meeting, Governor Hogan and Ambassador Herzl discussed the state’s trade mission, which focuses on economic development and strengthening cultural ties between Maryland and Israel. The governor and ambassador also spoke to the longstanding history between Maryland and Israel, and their many mutual strengths, including entrepreneurship, innovation, and high-growth industries. Governor Hogan was joined by Secretary of State John Wobensmith and Secretary of Aging Rona Kramer.

Governor Hogan arrived in Israel this morning, and is leading a delegation of Maryland state officials, business leaders, academic leaders, and Jewish community leaders on a seven-day trade mission. The mission’s goal is to strengthen ties between the Hogan administration and key Israeli officials and business leaders, and pursue opportunities for Maryland companies to partner with Israeli businesses.
